What You Need To Know About Infinite
What should kids wear to their first class?
We suggest they wear comfortable clothing to freely move in. Workouts do range from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the age range. A new uniform will be given to when you sign them up for a membership. Please note, shoes are not allowed on mats as we sanitize them on a daily to keep the germs out.
How does the membership work?
After completing the week trial period, one of our team members can reach out and discuss the different membership options in more depth. With the monthly membership, you will have access to an unlimited amount of classes throughout the week (as long as it’s the age appropriate one for kids and full access one for adults). There are no drop-in options for kids.
How do I sign myself or my child up?
You can create an account and sign up through that account. Alternatively, you can also sign up in-person with our front desk staff. Please note, contracts automatically renew at the end of their initial contract unless the student or parent of the student provides Infinite Martial Arts with written notice of the intent to not renew.
If I need to cancel my membership, what is that policy?
If you wish to cancel the contract, a 30-day written notice must be given. This can be done through your online account; via email; bringing in a letter; or mailing a letter to the studio. Please note that we strictly adhere to our 30-day notice policy and do not accept phone calls as a cancellation method.
What should adults wear to their first class?
We supply loaner Gis to adults during their free trial week. Adult classes last an hour. Adult uniforms are available for purchase once the free trial week has ended; they aren’t supplied as a part of their membership. Again, please note, shoes are not allowed on mats as we sanitize them on a daily to keep the germs out.
What is (BJJ) Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling-based martial art whose central theme is the skill of controlling a resisting opponent in ways that force him to submit. Due to the fact that control is generally easier on the ground than in a standing position, much of the technique of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is centered around the skill of taking an opponent down to the ground and wrestling for dominant control positions.
Can anyone train BJJ?
Yes. Jiu jitsu is a martial art based on using leverage which allows the weaker and lighter individual to beat the stronger and heavier opponent. For this reason jiu jitsu is recommended for everyone regardless of your physical condition, age or size. There are beginner classes available and many of the people who study BJJ have no prior martial arts training.
Do I need special equipment to study BJJ?
Students typically wear a Gi (two-piece garment worn by martial artists.) It is also typical for male students to wear a cup, and some students may want to wear a mouth guard. It’s a good idea to have a supply of athletic tape, as well.
